Epereia Leadership

"Equipping students for Christ-like influence"

Program overview

Epereia is a greek word meaning "influence" and its our hope that students become influential disciples who lead in Christ! It is anchored in the life and teaching of Jesus because we believe Christ-like leadership brings transformation to our world! This program will be an exciting and intense opportunity for you to grow as a disciple  and as a young leader! Significant investment will be made in your life by adults with a variety of skills because we believe you are valuable and equipping you is really important. We are definitely not trying to make your life more busy, but you will have to make a significant investment of time for the program so we ask that you prayerfully consider this reality.
Please consider all expectations before applying for Epereia.

A few leadership keys...

Key One

Leadership involves making tough decisions. Leaders have to make all kinds of decisions, and while some are easier than others, all have an impact. Our hope is that students will gain wisdom that will help make better life decisions. Saying yes to one thing means you are saying no to other things!

Key Two

Leadership requires action. Leadership requires understanding vision and values, whether personal or corporate, and having the conviction to stand for what you believe in no matter the cost. Influential leaders are defined by godly character and are willing to meet the challenges they face.

KeyThree

Leadership includes sacrifice. It takes sacrifice to step up and lead and its hard work. Leadership makes you vulnerable to criticism and rejection, and while it's safer to stay on the sidelines, its not as rewarding. Leadership is not always popular, but its influential.

Key Four

Leadership requires taking risks. Sometimes we are afraid to try for fear of making a mistake. Epereia will help you understand that we are stretched when we get outside of our comfort zone and try new things.

Parent information

As you can see, by our events and activities, Epereia will be a fun, exciting and intense opportunity for students to grow as disciples and leaders. We believe that students are valuable and therfore significant investments will be made in their lives by caring adults. Students will connect with an SLC Team Member as an individual and as a small group. Please note, it is possible that your son/daughter will connect with a SLC member of the opposite gender. In all meetings, Safe Place Policies are carefully adhered to. Your son/daughter will be encouraged in character development and given practical tools to enable them to make wise life choices. These appointments will typically happen during the school day, keeping in mind that students have academic responsibilities that must be honoured.
Application Process
Applicants will take part in an interview with the SLC Team and following the interviews, the team will be selected. We are only able to accommodate up to 12 students so naturally, some may not be selected. If your son/daughter is not selected, it is in no way a reflection of their ability to lead, but simply a reality that we have limited resources at this point. We are trusting that God will help us select individuals that will work well together and represent a broad spectrum of gifts and abilities. Students who are selected will then complete additional forms and submit them with their $350 fee.
Please ensure that your son/daughter have completed the following by clicking on the appropriate button found below:
  • Epereia Application (To be completed by the student applicant)
  • Student Release Form (To be completed by a parent/guardian)
  • 2 Epereia Reference Forms (To be completed by individuals 18+ and not family members)

On behalf of the Spiritual Life Centre, I want to thank you again for the privilege of serving your child at Eden High School. It's a blessing to see them grow as young leaders, contribute to their community and transform their world! We sincerely hope that Epereia will be a part of that process. Many Blessings,
